The MSc in Transportation and Logistics is a program offered by MUST. It provides opportunities for recent graduates and working professionals to seek job opportunities and career development in the rapidly growing and dynamic field, which is experiencing a shortage of professionals in both work and teaching roles.

Upon graduation, students can engage in work, research, and teaching across various sectors within businesses and universities that offer programs catering to train stations, air stations, airports, road freight, maritime transport, seaports, railways, and can function in both work and educational capacities within fields such as supply chain management, traffic control, highway operations, toll collection operations, communication systems, and passenger services.

Upon successful completion of the program, students are conferred with two independent Master’s degrees:

  • Master of Science in Transportation and Logistics from the Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST)
  • Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the Swiss Institute of Management and Innovation (Optional) – Only awarded upon SIMI’s recognition of results from MUST.

Credits and competency framework:

According to the accreditation and recognition standards of MQA (Malaysia Qualification Agency), to complete the Master of Science in Transportation and Logistics from MUST:

  • 9 subjects achieved 36 MQF Credits
  • Master Thesis 8 MQF Credits

According to European Union standards, EQF competency framework and Bologna process to achieve Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from SIMI Swiss:

  • 9 subjects achieved 60 ECTS Credits
  • Master Thesis 30 ECTS Credits
Diploma

After graduation, students receive:

  • Master of Science in Transportation and Logistics from Malaysia University of Sciences of Technology (MUST);
  • Master of Science in Logistic and Supply Chain Management from the Swiss Information and Management Institute (Optional) – Only awarded upon SIMI’s recognition of results from MUST.

Entrance requirements

In addition to the entry requirements, candidates applying to the program are also assessed for their suitability by the admissions committee before joining the program to ensure that they can acquire and benefit from the program.

Entry requirements:

To enroll this program, learners must possess one of the criteria below:

  • A Bachelor’s qualification in Majors from accredited universities;
  • Or a Level 6 EQF diploma or an equivalent qualification from organizations that are authorized to issue qualifications and have been accredited.
English requirements:

If a learner is not from a predominantly English-speaking country, proof of English language proficiency must be provided.

  • Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level B2 or equivalent;
  • Or A minimum TOEFL score of 101 or IELTS 5.5; Reading and Writing must be at 5.5 or equivalent.

  1. In case of not having an English proficiency certificate, the candidate can provide it within 6 months.
  2. SIMI and MUST reserve the right to make admissions decisions based on the requirements of recognized agencies and the global quotas of the program.
Training model
  • The program is designed for busy individuals, following the Hybrid model, which combines face-to-face sessions on the MUST campus, Live Classes, and online local teaching assistants (if applicable).
  • During the study period, learners are supported by SIMI Swiss’s Asia partners.
Graduation

After completing the requirements, students may attend the graduation ceremony at NMUC in Asia, depending on the annual schedule of the universities.
